THE THINKING BEHIND THE BANK

How Ideas Become Better

Good Ideas Bank

Good Ideas Bank is a collaborative platform where people can share observations, questions and ideas, discover the thinking of others, and contribute to developing new possibilities.

It is inspired by the philosophy behind the book How to Make a Good Idea Better. The premise is that ideas do not have to be fully formed, original or immediately practical to be worth sharing. Sometimes an observation sparks a question. A question generates an idea. An idea inspires another idea. And a contribution from someone with a different perspective can change how we understand a problem.

Good Ideas Bank creates a place for those interactions to happen.

Five foundational principles

  1. Everyone can contributeAnyone can share an observation, question or idea.
  2. No idea has to be perfectRough, unconventional and incomplete ideas are welcome.
  3. Every idea can be improvedIdeas remain open for others to question, challenge and build upon.
  4. Contributions deserve recognitionOriginal contributors and those who build on their thinking receive credit.
  5. Keep it simpleContributions should be clear and concise.
